Abstract

Improving fine motor skills in young children is very important for their physical development. One activity that is effective in achieving this goal is the lacing card game. This activity is not only fun, but also involves the coordination of small muscles needed in activities such as writing, drawing, and manipulating small objects. This study aims to analyze the effect of lacing card activities on the fine motor skills of children aged 5-6 years. Using qualitative methods through a literature review, the results of the analysis show that lacing card activities can improve eye and hand coordination, precision of hand movements, precision, patience and independence. This activity also trains children to make decisions independently, increasing their focus and concentration. Apart from the benefits of fine motor skills, lacing cards also support the development of children's artistic and creative skills, such as recognizing shapes, patterns and creating their own designs. This activity allows children to learn while playing in a supportive environment. Thus, lacing cards can be integrated as a relevant and effective learning activity for early childhood education, both at school and at home
