Abstract

The purpose of this study was to improve children's language skills through the use of Busy Book media in children aged 4-5 years at Ra Al-Azhar. The type of research used is classroom action research (PTK) using two cycles. The classroom action research model (PTK) in this study is planning, action, observation. the object of research is children aged 4-5 years with a total of 13 children. Data collection techniques in this study are using observation, interviews, documentation and tests. The results of this action research show that there is an increase in children's ability to speak the ability to recognize letters in group A children of Ra Al-Azhar increased aimed at the average completeness of children in pre-action by 80%. Children's ability to speak in cycle I increased by 40% to 60% of children reaching the completion value, Cycle II increased by 20% to 80% of children reaching the completion value, and has exceeded the achievement target applied by researchers.  Letter recognition and understanding activities using Busy Book media not only improve children's cognitive development but also improve children's fine motoric physical development. Based on this description, it can be concluded that the use of busy book media can develop the ability to recognize letters in group A children of Ra AL-azhar Sei Rampah.
