Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of singing methods in English vocabulary recognition
among 5-6-year-old children at Al-Ikhlas Kindergarten in Ogan Ilir, South Sumatra. The research
method used is qualitative with an experimental research approach. Two 5-6-year-old children
from TK B class participated in this study. Data collection was conducted through observation,
documentation, and interviews. Data analysis used interactive analysis techniques. The results of
the study indicate that the singing method is effective in introducing English vocabulary to 5-6-
year-old children. The children showed enthusiasm and active participation in learning through singing and movement. By repeating songs and associating them with melodies, children can better
remember vocabulary. The singing method also creates a fun learning experience and enhances
children's motivation. Furthermore, this method builds understanding through social interaction
and the use of music, which influences brain activities related to learning and memory. This
research has important implications for educators, researchers, and education practitioners in
developing innovative language learning methods for young children. The singing method can be
applied in both formal and informal learning environments to enhance the understanding of
English vocabulary among 5-6-year-old children in a fun and effective way.
